Donnie
Thurston is an Itinerant Minister who has been married to Darlene for 43
years and has 5 grown children and 12 grandchildren. He has served the
Body of Christ as an Associate Pastor, Senior Pastor and Evangelist. He
has seen many come to know the Lord as their Savior and experience
healing. Donnie has also worked with Day of Hope Ministries in
ministering to the poor. He ministers in the prophetic and healing
anointing. Mark 16:17-18; Isaiah 61:1-3.) His desire is for the Body of
Christ to know they can walk in the anointing and do the works that
Jesus did.
A Brief Testimony
In a vision in 1994 I was standing before the Lord
and He asked me if I saw the Man of God standing over there. I replied,
"Yes Lord, I see him, but I can’t see his face." The Lord replied, "I am
going to have him lay hands on you to give you a double portion of My
healing power."
Six months later Darlene and I were at Bonnie and
Mahesh Chavda’s Watch Night Service. Around 2:00 a.m. there were about
20 people who were down front to receive different anointings when
Bonnie stated there was someone there that the Lord wanted to give a
double portion healing anointing. At that time I remembered my previous
vision. Mahesh came and laid his hands on me and said "double portion
anointing." I came to myself about 2 hours later.
On the way home we talked about having a home
meeting with a few people, so we stepped out and invited three couples
to our first get together. As soon as those with bad backs came into the
room they were healed - backs straightened and there was dancing all
around the room. We continued the meetings and at every meeting we saw
may healed. We were not trying to start a church, but to provide a place
to meet with the Lord’s presence. We soon outgrew our home and rented
several other places. People began coming from all over the country
because of the word of mouth testimonies. We continued on and in 1997
the building we were renting seated 700 people.
The Lord has always been faithful to heal people
in our meetings. (IT IS HE THAT DOES THE WORK AND NOT WE OUR SELVES)
